Year 6 spent half a term learning to use Zu3D an app which allows you to create your own stop frame animations. They began by creating a storyboard for their animations, identifying scenes, props and characters. Using modelling clay and wire frames they made their own movable and adjustable characters. By taking many, many still photographs and moving their characters ever so slightly between each one they were able to create their own moving images.
Once they had put together all their images and decided on the correct speed to show them they added sound and narration along with titles and credits. They learned to edit their work and re-shoot it if they weren’t happy with their first or second take.
We think you’ll agree that the end results are fabulous:
Mr Dyson has challenged Year 6 to create their own videos advertising Parklands Primary School and the best ones will be shared with the world via Twitter. Watch this space to see what they create, but for now listen to what Mr Dyson had to say…
