The journey of education at Parklands Primary is encapsulated in our guiding words: Nurture – Grow – Succeed.

These words embody our approach to fostering a holistic and fulfilling learning experience for all the children in our community.

Nurture: we believe that every student is a unique seed of potential. Through personalised attention, care, and support, we nurture their innate talents, building a strong foundation for their academic, emotional, and social growth.

Grow: just as a seed transforms into a thriving plant, we facilitate a journey of continuous growth. Our diverse and dynamic curriculum encourages students to explore various subjects, develop skills, and broaden their horizons. We provide an environment that nurtures intellectual curiosity and empowers them to flourish.

Succeed: the ultimate goal of education is to prepare students for a successful life. Parklands New Curriculum

 

INTENT – the instructional design of our Long Term Plans and Learning Sequences ensure we anticipate and plan for the needs of all our learners, as they move through a learning experience step by step. Sequencing the learning properly provides a smooth, incrementally progressive learning journey, where each small step allows the learner to be successful in a continuous way.

IMPLEMENTATION – through lesson observations and book scrutiny, we make sure the National Curriculum, as well as our Parklands Vision, is implemented to the highest standard. In doing this we ensure that all our children have equal opportunities to succeed and develop into confident learners. We also strive to continuously develop our professional teaching practice through CPD – we believe in keeping the skills and knowledge of our teachers up to date, to ensure they can deliver high-quality teaching and impact positively on all pupil outcomes.

IMPACT – through pupil interviews, asking questions from subject Knowledge Organisers, we can monitor children’s opinions, thoughts and assess their understanding in a subject or area of learning. Evaluating the pupil’s answers to questions is our way of identifying areas of strength and areas for development within the children’s subject knowledge and also within the subject itself. Information gathered filters into our Assessment Grids.
