Same Day Intervention
To really enhance our maths we introduced the SDI (Same Day Intervention) technique to enhance children’s learning. The results have been outstanding. This allows staff mid way through the maths lesson to send their children to assembly whilst they look at which children require support and which children can move to mastery work. The maths lesson will then continue after assembly. Why wait to see which children require support overnight when we can be proactive and develop children that day! These SDI’s occur daily at 10 am.
Please join us for our whole school CELEBRATION ASSEMBLY every Friday at 2pm. We will text and invite you on Thursday evenings.
CLASS ASSEMBLIES will be on Thursdays at 9:40. The children will also have a daily assembly @ 9.40am Y1 / 2 Assembly in the Music room on Tuesdays, KS2 Assembly in the hall on Tuesdays at 9:40.
Drop-off and collection
At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged into the playground, while adhering with social distancing rules. This helps to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents. If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child), please let us know. This avoids any confusion or upset.
Offering a quality start to the day. The children can access the ICT room; undertake a gym session; do art and craft activities or do their homework. We are proud to be partners with Magic breakfast; offering the very best in Kellogg’s cereals; Quaker Oats Porridge; Tropicana Fresh Fruit Juice and Bagels from Bagel Nash….. All this will be provided for 30p; yes 30p. Even bring your parents! All children are entitled to attend Breakfast Club, which starts at 8.00am. Children will be supervised until they are taken to class at 8.50am. Getting to school
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely. We are also proud to offer a walking bus.
