On Thursday 17th October Year 3 shared a snapshot of our learning so far this half term.
We shared our geographical knowledge on different types of mountains and how these are commonly formed. We showed some of our fantastic art work in which we have created our own visions of Mount Vesuvius using charcoal and water colour. We also showed our ICT skills through creating alternative versions of Mount Vesuvius in the style of ‘Pop Art’ using the ‘paint’ program and adding final details with ink.
Our Novel Study this half term is George’s Marvellous Medicine. We read some brilliant examples of the instructions we wrote when creating our own medicine, whilst re-enacting the making of this. We shared some of our learning in science and discussed how we should keep our bodies healthy by ensuring we are eating a balanced diet of seven key nutrients: proteins, fats, carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins, minerals, and water. We discussed the importance of each of these nutrients, sharing examples of each.
Our assembly finished with a short (but very memorable!) song, ”Oh oh oh……volcano!”
